Meet Our Faculty and Staff
The School Draws its faculty from among the most caring, interested and talented teachers in El Paso. SEE works with area educators and other professionals; every applicant is carefully interviewed before being accepted. As a fully accredited school, SEE requires its teachers to have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and a college specialty in a related teaching field. All faculty receive training in SEE's methodologies for developing sound academic growth in building self-esteem and positive social skills in youth.
Director
SEE's Director, Iris Burnham, is an experienced teacher and curriculum designer. Her experience includes teaching elementary through college level courses. She holds a B.A. from Hunter College, City University of New York and an M.A. from California State University at Los Angeles. In 1993 she was recognized for her work in education and inducted in the El Paso Women's Hall of Fame. She is President of the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools.
Marketing Director and Business Manager
Robert Furrer handles all advertising and marketing, in addition to processing various contracts for SEE School. Mr. Furrer is also the school's bookkeeper and liaison for school districts participating in the SES (Supplemental Education Services) program.
SEE School Supervisor
Elizabeth Eacker is the supervisor of the SEE School program and has worked in public schools in youth programs as well as a Supportive Guidance Counselor and advisor for students. She holds two Associate Degrees in Youth programs and a B.A. in Social Psychology. Ms. Eacker has been with the SEE School program since the summer of 2000 where she practices a brilliant degree of professionalism and expertise.
Administrative Assistant
Michelle Jefferson makes sure all new and current students are placed with teachers who are best suited for individual student needs. In addition to her numerous administrative duties, Ms. Jefferson also helps with graduation plans and transcripts.
Assistant Transcript Clerk
Lindsay Frederick works on graduation plans and transcripts for the SEE School, she also helps to run the SES program which deals with open houses for local high schools. Miss Frederick is also a full-time UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso) student who is pursuing a degree in Engineering.
Teachers
Garand E. Bohn teaches English, world geography, U.S. & world history, speech, economics, algebra & geometry, as well as government. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UTEP with a major in History and a minor in English. Mr. Bohn also completed graduate work in Urban Studies from Trinity University Graduate School, in San Antonio, TX.
Christopher William Dalzell has volunteered at the SEE School since 1994, as well as substituted at the Da Vinci School for Science and the Arts and the Burnham Wood Charter School for all grade levels. Mr. Dalzell teaches English, social studies, government, and economics. He has a double B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy and a non-traditional education in government.
Stuart Goldberg teaches music appreciation and numerous foreign languages such as French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, English, and Hebrew. Mr. Goldberg attended the University of Florida and the University of Missouri where he obtained a B.A. in Russian and an M.A. in Spanish, respectively. He also taught language classes at Hanks High School, El Paso Community College and UTEP. Mr. Goldberg is a silver medalist in table tennis for the state of Texas.
Sarbajit Roy grew up in India, and received his Bachelor's Degree in engineering there. He moved to the United States, where he received a Master's Degree in industrial engineering and physics at UTEP. He has been teaching since 1995, and feels that communication with his students has been essential in his success as a mentor. He feels that the one-on-one program allows for more discussion and interaction with the student. Mr. Roy is flexible in his teaching methods, which he believes is important in allowing the student to give feedback, improving the lines of communication. He promotes math and science, as he believes that a focus in these areas has been declining over the years. Each student is placed in a situation where they become interested in what they are learning and want to experience more and continue learning. Mr. Roy takes a pleasure out of seeing each of his students succeed and achieve something.
Lance Williams is a life-long El Pasoan and a recent graduate of UTEP with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He teaches math and science, especially enjoying biology and chemistry. Mr. Williams believes that all children can learn and works hard to make sure that all of his students have every opportunity to excel!
